Where to Store All Your Oral Hygiene Supplies to Keep Them Safe

Where to Store All Your Oral Hygiene Supplies to Keep Them SafeIf you want to maintain your teeth and gums' health, you also need to maintain the tools you use to keep them clean and free of plaque and decay. The following information gives you tips on how to safely store your oral hygiene supplies.

Reviewing the Oral Hygiene Supplies You Need

To thoroughly clean your teeth and gums, you need to use a toothbrush (sonic, electric, or manual), dental floss, and a tongue scraper. You can also use a WaterPik to supplement your oral care routine. Do not use a WaterPik in place of flossing, as the device will not remove plaque or polish the teeth like floss.

Storing Your Dental Tools

First, you need to store your toothbrush in a place that is safely away from the toothbrushes of other members of your family. It should be placed in a well-ventilated area. Never store your toothbrush near the sink, as the plume from the toilet, when it is flushed, can contaminate the brush. You also don't want to store your toothbrush in a medicine cabinet, as the cabinet does not provide an adequate airflow. The best place to store your toothbrush is a space, such as your bedside table, safely away from the bathroom sink. You can also store your other items in the space, so you have easy access to all of them.

Storing Your Dental Tools When Traveling

If you are going to stay at a hotel for some time, again, you can store your dental tools on a bedside table to keep the items safe. If you will be staying at different properties, pack more than one toothbrush in your travel bag and place your dental tools, in easy access, at the top of the bag. Use a different toothbrush each time you brush to play it safe. Travel toothbrushes do not cost that much, so it is best to have several on hand while you are traveling.
